Oh just stop talking already....

Stupid is as stupid does…It’s hard for me to believe that anyone watching Tom’s antics for the past two months/weeks with his child-lover is going to believe that this scientologist won’t give it all up for Viagra in the next few years….(Unless of course, Katie Holmes is his beard, the thought of which just grosses me out) (Which, I guess, wouldn’t preclude his need for Viagra, now would it??)

Outrageousness gets people to watch TV, go to the movies and buy products. Think of Charlton Heston and Tom Selleck and their guns, Shirley MacLaine channeling great spirits, Rosanne and her 12 personalities, Paris Hilton’s missing puppy, Lindsay and Hilary’s feud……

How does one respond to this stupidity? Sure, you could write to the station and ask them to do a follow up story, and patiently watch every day and wait until they do. But how much more powerful would it be to boycott the show, the network, HIS MOVIE!!!

I personally have cancelled cable TV, and have urged others in my community to do the same. I don’t get the major networks without it. I get my news from the internet, news Magazines and the newspaper. I can control what garbage goes in and out much better that way. Just think! No reality TV. No commercials! No MacNews!! Of course, there is a price to pay, since I also have no PBS or Discovery Channel. I think the benefits outweigh the costs…

The rule of thumb is that there is no bad publicity. It is true that silence is conformity, but on the other hand, there is nothing louder than $$.

Just a thought.

Why did she say THAT?

So today my mom called to say that she would NOT be coming to visit next week to see my daughter's big stage performance after all. My child is now upset, depressed, and feels unloved by MY mother, her grandmother. This is NOT how it's supposed to be. She's supposed to RELY on my mother for consistency and compassion.

You know, all my life I thought I could deal with my mother in therapy, I never thought my child would have to as well. I thought that kind of behavior skipped a generation, and that my child would be in therapy talking about things I did that annoyed her.
